They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well this one is endless. After nine months in Italy and the miracle that Ospedale Maggiore di Carita in Novara gave us we finally made it back home to Canada. A place we have missed deeply.
HOME definition - a place where one lives.
Yes it is a place where we live, but what happens when you have two homes that pull you in both directions? That is our life right now. Home is to us a safe haven and a place we are comfortable, it is where we live with our family and friends, it is where we build memories and have hope for the future. It is a place where we can be the best part of ourselves.
Our home in Canada has all the comforts of life in a place we can have it all. Electricity that doesn't blow the whole fuse panel when you have the oven on and two stove elements, it is the place where heat or AC is on when you want it, not regulated to certain hours per day, it is where you can buy a car in a day instead of ten, and a house in a week instead of five months. Most importantly it is where we raised our kids and were starting to watch our grandsons thrive, it is where our extended family and our friends are....CANADA is our heart and soul and has given us every opportunity we ever wanted.
Our home in Arona Italy doesn't have all the comforts of life and we've had to adapt and make do in a simpler way. Living in a 600 square foot condo has been a challenge, especially the tiny kitchen, but it's amazing how it became home. Because home is where you make it. And our home in Italy gave us LIFE in a whole new way. We have learned that miracles happen with the help of our angels and that in life there is always opportunity to grow as a person. I believe we are thrown into situations to learn from them. For us, living in Italy we have had to learn patience. From the day to day struggles of getting things done, to when Gianni is in the hospital and we have to patiently wait for his treatment.
We've also learned that the simple life is also an incredible life, something that a year ago we would never had admitted. Getting up and enjoying the slow pace has been rewarding in itself. The long walks by the lake are our cleanse, and now buying a house and renovating it to make it just right for us but most importantly for anyone that wants to come to visit and explore our world is exciting us. We never believed two homes would be so important, but for us they are our life for the next couple of years. We are so thankful that the doctors, nurses and everyone else at the hospital not only saved Gianni's life, but also are giving us the opportunity to come home to Canada when treatment phases allow. This visit is short, only ten days, but we will take it.
This website is about wellness and living life to the fullest and more than ever I want to remind you that life isn't about things we have, it is about making our house a home to build the memories that we can cherish forever. It's about taking care of your body and mind so that you can enjoy life to the fullest. It's about learning from the challenges life gives us and adapt so that you can live life well always. Benvenuti a Casa
Dicono che un'immagine vale più di mille parole, beh questa è infinita. Dopo nove mesi in Italia e il miracolo che ci ha regalato l'Ospedale Maggiore di Carita di Novara siamo finalmente tornati a casa in Canada. Un posto che ci è mancato profondamente.
Definizione CASA - un luogo in cui si vive.
Sì, è un posto in cui viviamo, ma cosa succede quando hai due case che ti spingono in entrambe le direzioni? Questa è la nostra vita in questo momento. La casa è per noi un rifugio sicuro e un luogo in cui ci sentiamo a nostro agio, è dove viviamo con la nostra famiglia e i nostri amici, è dove costruiamo ricordi e nutriamo speranza per il futuro. È un luogo in cui possiamo essere la parte migliore di noi stessi.
La nostra casa in Canada ha tutti i comfort della vita in un posto dove possiamo avere tutto. Elettricità che non fa saltare l'intero pannello dei fusibili quando hai il forno acceso e due elementi della stufa, è il luogo in cui il riscaldamento o l'aria condizionata sono accesi quando lo desideri, non regolato su determinate ore al giorno, è dove puoi acquistare un'auto in un giorno invece di dieci e una casa in una settimana invece di cinque mesi. La cosa più importante è dove abbiamo cresciuto i nostri figli e stavamo iniziando a vedere i nostri nipoti prosperare, è dove si trovano la nostra famiglia allargata ei nostri amici... Il CANADA è il nostro cuore e la nostra anima e ci ha dato tutte le opportunità che avremmo sempre desiderato.
La nostra casa ad Arona, in Italia, non ha tutte le comodità della vita e abbiamo dovuto adattarci e arrangiarci in modo più semplice. Vivere in un condominio di 600 piedi quadrati è stata una sfida, soprattutto la minuscola cucina, ma è incredibile come sia diventata casa. Perché casa è dove ce la fai. E la nostra casa in Italia ci ha dato la VITA in un modo completamente nuovo. Abbiamo imparato che i miracoli accadono con l'aiuto dei nostri angeli e che nella vita c'è sempre l'opportunità di crescere come persona. Credo che siamo gettati in situazioni per imparare da loro. Per noi che viviamo in Italia abbiamo dovuto imparare la pazienza. Dalle lotte quotidiane per portare a termine le cose, a quando Gianni è in ospedale e dobbiamo aspettare pazientemente le sue cure.
Abbiamo anche imparato che la vita semplice è anche una vita incredibile, qualcosa che un anno fa non avremmo mai ammesso. Alzarsi e godersi il ritmo lento è stato di per sé gratificante. Le lunghe passeggiate in riva al lago sono la nostra purificazione, e ora acquistare una casa e ristrutturarla per renderla perfetta per noi ma soprattutto per chiunque voglia venire a visitare ed esplorare il nostro mondo ci entusiasma. Non avremmo mai creduto che due case sarebbero state così importanti, ma per noi sono la nostra vita per i prossimi due anni. Siamo così grati che i medici, le infermiere e tutti gli altri dell'ospedale non solo abbiano salvato la vita di Gianni, ma ci stiano anche dando l'opportunità di tornare a casa in Canada quando le fasi del trattamento lo consentiranno. Questa visita è breve, solo dieci giorni, ma ce la faremo.
Questo sito web parla di benessere e vivere la vita al massimo e più che mai voglio ricordarti che la vita non riguarda le cose che abbiamo, si tratta di rendere la nostra casa una casa per costruire i ricordi che possiamo custodire per sempre. Si tratta di prenderti cura del tuo corpo e della tua mente in modo che tu possa goderti la vita al massimo.
