It's been since May 2nd that I've completed an actual hike because my back has been giving me trouble. Inclines are very hard therefore I found this trail I could do on my own as it is very well used therefore no issue doing the trail by myself but also the elevation gain was only 51 metres. I decided hike the trail in the opposite direction therefore the elevation gain was not bad at all.
This trail is in Surrey BC and is just over 4 km in length. It is a loop trail that is paved the whole way. A lot of the trail is in open air therefore if it is really hot or raining you would get impacted by the weather so make sure you go there prepared. This resides on the Tynehead Regional Park and is one of four different trails at this location.
Perimeter Trail : The trail is a paved interpretive trail with information signs detailing the habitat and surrounding environment. The route is fairly level, east going and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It is a baby stroller and wheelchair friendly trail.
Salmon Habitat Trail : The loop trail is a gravel trail with some boardwalk sections. The trail provides areas where there are opportunities to view the salmon spawning. The route is fairly level, east going and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Hatchery Trail : The trail is a gravel trail leading to the fish hatchery and viewing areas. The route is fairly level, east going and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Birch Grove Trail : The trail is a paved route which is very flat and easily accessible. The route explores a grove of trees and connects to other trails in the park. It is a baby stroller and wheelchair friendly trail.
There are four entrances to the Tynehead Regional Park. Each with its own selection of services and amenities. Each accessing a different section of the park.
The Hatchery Entrance (south) includes a washroom, picnic day use area, parking lot and information signs.
The Serpentine Hollow Entrance (northwest) includes a washroom, information signs and parking area. Explore 300-400 metres down the trail towards the Serpentine River is a picnic day use area.
