When we are young, we wish our lives away looking forward to the next milestone. But at 58 going on to 59 a year is a big deal and I wish it would slow down.
A year has past since:
I visited with you in the home
I combed your hair
I helped you eat
I washed your face
I painted your nails
I waited for the dreaded phone call
I held you in my arms
I kissed your cheek
I held your hands
I saw your face
I prayed with you
I talked to you
I wiped your tears
I watch you fade away
I heard you take you last breath
I held you tight knowing you were with daddy
I said goodbye
Mamma, I missed you on your birthday, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. All the days you loved to celebrate. However, I miss you the most during the tough times, when a daughter needs her mother the most. But throughout my life you taught me to face adversity and be strong and I’m thankful for that gift. I’m also thankfully knowing you are my angel watching over us, gets me through them. Along side daddy and all my other angels, I know you have us in your heart and hands. Never have I ever felt it more than in this ONE YEAR.
You already know I love you beyond this world because I tell you every day. You have shown me many times you are listening when you turn on a light, put on the toaster, turn on the fan, make an ornamental heart move, or open a door. Some may think that is freaky, but I welcome it because I know you are still with me and you are my miracle from above.
Keep being my miracle mamma. Keep holding us in your hands and heart and watching over us. Know that you are missed and catch the kisses I'm blowing you to the moon and stars and all the angels in-between. Happy ONE YEAR Mamma.
UN ANNO
Quando siamo giovani, auguriamo alle nostre vite di andare avanti in attesa del prossimo traguardo. Ma a 58 anni quasi 59 all'anno è un grosso affare e vorrei che rallentasse.
È passato un anno da quando ho:
Visitato con te in casa
Ti ho pettinato i capelli
Ti ho aiutato a mangiare
Ti ho lavato la faccia
Ho dipinto le tue unghie
Ho aspettato la temuta telefonata
Ti ho tenuto tra le mie braccia
Ti ho baciato la guancia
Ti ho tenuto per mano
Ho pregato con te
Ti ho parlato
Ho asciugato le tue lacrime
Ti guardo svanire
Ti ho sentito tirare l'ultimo respiro
Ti ho tenuto stretto sapendo che eri con papà
Ti ho detto addio
Mamma, mi sei mancata il giorno del tuo compleanno, Natale, San Valentino e festa della mamma. Tutti i giorni che amavi festeggiare. Tuttavia, mi manchi di più durante i momenti difficili, quando una figlia ha più bisogno di sua madre. Ma per tutta la mia vita mi hai insegnato ad affrontare le avversità e ad essere forte e sono grato per quel dono. Sono anche grato sapendo che sei il mio angelo che veglia su di noi, mi fa superare i momenti difficili. Accanto a papà e a tutti gli altri miei angeli, so che ci hai nel cuore e nelle mani. Non l'ho mai sentito più che in QUESTO ANNO.
Tu sai già che ti amo oltre questo mondo perché ve lo dico ogni giorno. Mi hai mostrato molte volte che mi stai ascoltando quando accendi una luce, accendi il tostapane, accendi il ventilatore, fai muovere un cuore ornamentale o apri una porta. Alcuni potrebbero pensare che sia strano, ma lo accolgo con favore perché so che sei ancora con me e sei il mio miracolo dall'alto.
Continua ad essere la mia mamma miracolosa. Continuate a tenerci tra le mani e nel cuore e vegliate su di noi. Sai che mi manchi e continuerò a soffiarvi baci alla luna e alle stelle e a tutti gli angeli nel mezzo. Felice UN ANNO Mamma.
