North Alouette Greenway Hike

It was a wonderful Valentine's Day as Gianni and I got to spend a few hours with our grandson Brody who was off from school. We started with a short hike at Alouette in Maple Ridge and then had lunch at Home Restaurant. Which was really breakfast as we all had bacon and eggs for lunch.

North Alouette Greenway is a 3.8 km trail that runs north to south along the Alouette river. It is accessible year round and skill level for everyone as there is no elevation gain. It truly is a simple hike/walk. When we walked there were many walking their dogs and we didn't see any horses but lots of poop along the paths. The equestrian uses this path for walking horses therefore you may see some.

There are several horse jumping areas along the greenway and Brody pretended to be a horse and jumped some. It is very scenic area with river, marshland, mountains, dykes and lots of blueberry farms.

It is a great trail for running, jogging and biking as well. It took us 45 minutes to walk the trail which is in and out style. To find out more about this trail click HERE
