Mundy Park Perimeter Trail

What a wonderful weekend as I was able to get two easy hikes in. This one is a moderately trafficked 4.3 km loop trail located in Coquitlam, BC. It was a beautiful day so Crystal and I truly enjoyed this hike. Because my back is still very sore I wanted to ensure the elevation gain wasn't too bad and this one had 52 m gain.

We did carry bear spray as many posts said bears are in the area but luckily we didn't have to use the spray. I had never used bear spray before so I tested it out at home and found it very simple to use. Funny thing, I went out later to water my back yard plants and I was breathing in the hot pepper and coughing. So it does last a long time and have to be careful when you spray it.

What was very cool about this trail was that dogs could be off leash. So it was fun seeing the pups running around the forest. I was happy to have my AllTrails App as signage was poor and the app kept us going in the right direction. Mundy Park is Coquitlam's largest park with 178 hectare park that has 400 acres of coastal rainforest and 16 km of trails within the park. It also hosts an array of outdoor amenities such as ball diamonds, lacrosse box, 9-hole disc golf course, playground, sheltered picnic area, outdoor pool and sports fields.

This was an easy hike that we completed in 50 minutes. Here are some photos of the scenery.
