Serves: 2
This is the simplest salad you can make and in Italy they have all types of baby lettuce that melt in your mouth as they are very soft. I always add some kind of nut and mix up the type of vinegar I use to give it a different taste. The mayo here is also different then home so it does give it a little bit of a different flavour which I absolutely love. I always try to have some bread to soup up the sauce at the end. Delicious!
Ingredients
4 cups lettuce
2 tbsp finely chopped chives or green onions
1/4 cup finely chopped yellow or red peppers (optional)
8 chopped hazelnuts (as many you like and whichever nut you like)
3 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tbsp white wine vinegar
Salt to taste
Directions
Add lettuce, chives, peppers and hazelnuts into a nice serving bowl
In a separate bowls or mason jar mix together oil, mayo, vinegar and as much salt as you like and pour over salad, then stir well
Serve with tongs at the table so you serve yourself or if having a sandwich place a portion next to the sandwich
These photos show the variety I've used in making this salad
