Serves: 3
Our family loves Chicken Cordon Bleu therefore I wanted to make a casserole version that is easy to make and even freeze for future use.
Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil
300 grams chicken cubed
Lawry’s garlic salt
¼ cup butter
¼ cup flour
1 cup milk
3 slices Kraft singles cheese
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
300 grams sliced ham julienned
8 slices Swiss cheese
¼ cup butter
1 ½ cup panko
½ tsp dried rosemary
½ tsp dried thyme
¼ cup parsley
Directions
Preheat oven 425°F
Heat oil in an ovenproof skillet, add chicken and season with garlic salt
Sauté chicken until golden all over and set aside
Melt butter in medium sauce pan and stir in flour
Pour milk in slowly until sauce thickens
Stir in Kraft singles until melted
Stir in parmesan cheese
Add more milk if too thick
Pour cheese mixture over chicken
Top with sliced ham and Swiss cheese
Bake for 15 minutes
While that is baking, in a skillet melt butter and add panko, rosemary and thyme
Keep stirring until panko is golden and add parsley
Sprinkle panko mixture on top of cheese and bake for 10 minutes
Let cool for ten minutes before serving
I served with a side green salad which was light to the fullness of the cordon bleu
