Makes 10 Rolls
I love Asian fried rice and pizza so why not try a rolled up version of these two together. You can add anything you want to the rice. I know I don’t use mushrooms in my recipes as I’m allergic but you could easily sauté in come mushrooms with the shallots and pepper to give it a more authentic Asian flavour. These rolls are great for dinner served with a salad, or next day for lunch on the go.
Omit the ham and this becomes a
Ingredients
2 tbsp sesame oil
½ cup finely chopped shallots
½ cup finely chopped red pepper
½ cup chopped ham (Omit to make it vegetarian)
Lawry’s garlic salt – or salt and pepper to taste
1 beaten egg
1 ½ cup cooked rice
1 tsp soy sauce
1 Pillsbury pizza dough
Sesame seeds
Directions
Heat oil in medium skillet and sauté shallots and pepper
When onions are translucent add ham and garlic salt and sauté for 3 minutes
Pour in half the beaten egg and mix well
Add cooked rice and fry for 3 minutes
Pour in soy sauce and mix well
Let rice cool before using
Ten minutes before cooking preheat oven to 425°F and line baking sheet with parchment
Roll out pizza dough and spread cool rice evenly over the dough
On the long edge roll the dough up
Cut the log into 10 pieces
Place roll flat onto baking sheet and brush egg over each roll
Sprinkle with sesame seeds
Bake for 20 minutes and serve with a side green salad
