Arona Christmas Lights – Luci di Natale Arona

YES it says Merry Christmas and not Buon Natale. So very hard to find anything with Buon Natale in Italy. SI, dice Merry Christmas e non Buon Natale. È molto difficile trovare qualcosa con Buon Natale!

It’s our second Christmas in Arona and this year Arona has outdone itself when it comes to Christmas. Last year, due to the short supply of power, there were not very many lights around town. Instead, they had plastic large ornaments suspended on high. They did have the main tree in the square and in Piazza di Popolo which were beautiful but this year it is a wonderland, less the snow.

E' il nostro secondo Natale ad Arona e quest'anno Arona si è superata quando si tratta di Natale. L'anno scorso, a causa della scarsità di energia elettrica, non c'erano molte luci in giro per la città. Invece, avevano grandi ornamenti di plastica sospesi in alto. Hanno fatto l'albero principale in piazza e in Piazza del Popolo che erano bellissimi, ma quest'anno è un paese delle meraviglie, meno la neve.

Pro Loco Arona, is a touristic association which was founded in 1993 to bring together those who are interested the tourist and socio-culture development of the area. Over the years it has organized many events such as Arona street food, cycling events, winter dips into Lago Maggiore, musical events, and Christmas activities to bring tourists to our town.

Christmas activities started on November 25th with the tree lighting ceremony and ice skating in Piazza di Popolo. The Christmas Market is on December 10th and a couple of days are dedicated to children’s workshops and from December 22nd through to January 7th there is a Modeling Exposition.

Pro Loco Arona, è un'associazione turistica nata nel 1993 per riunire coloro che sono interessati allo sviluppo turistico e socio-culturale del territorio. Nel corso degli anni ha organizzato molti eventi come lo street food di Arona, le manifestazioni ciclistiche, i tuffi invernali nel Lago Maggiore, gli eventi musicali e le attività natalizie per portare i turisti nella nostra città.

Le attività natalizie sono iniziate il 25 novembre con la cerimonia di accensione dell'albero e pattinaggio sul ghiaccio in Piazza di Popolo. Il Mercatino di Natale è il 10 dicembre e un paio di giorni sono dedicati ai laboratori per bambini e dal 22 dicembre al 7 gennaio c'è una Mostra di Modellismo.
