It was 17°C (63°F) so we decided to train into Milan to see what Christmas in Milan had to offer. We had heard there was lots to see so we took the train into Milano Central Station and walked everywhere from there. About 25 minutes away was our first stop at Milano Christmas Village.
It is a wonderland for kids of all ages and I wish my grandkids were here to experience it.
There are Christmas themed games, rides like Santa and his reindeer mini-rollercoaster, entertainment, skating rink for the young and older kids, Pictures with Santa, meet The Befana (Good witch) and of course lots of food.
C'erano 17°C, quindi abbiamo deciso di allenarci a Milano per vedere cosa aveva da offrire il Natale a Milano. Avevamo sentito che c'era molto da vedere, quindi abbiamo preso il treno per la stazione centrale di Milano e da lì abbiamo camminato ovunque. A circa 25 minuti di distanza c'è stata la nostra prima tappa al Villagio Delle Meraviglie.
È un posto delle meraviglie per bambini di tutte le età e vorrei che i miei nipoti fossero qui per viverlo. Ci sono giochi a tema natalizio, giostre come Babbo Natale e le sue renne sulle mini-montagne russe, animazione, pista di pattinaggio per grandi e piccini, foto con Babbo Natale, incontro con la Befana e naturalmente tanto cibo.

Piazza Duomo
We then had maps guide us 20 minutes to Piazza Duomo where not only is the incredible Milan Cathedral (which one day will get its own blog), but where the largest Christmas Market in Milan is situated. Over 60 little chalet type booths are set up around the Cathedral selling traditional Christmas gifts and crafts such as Christmas tree bobbles, nativity scenes and of course more food.
This year the market was opened on December 1st and will go until January 6th, the day of the Befana. Venders are there from 9am to 9pm to help you find just the right thing for that special someone. However, be prepared, there are a LOT of people visiting Milan at Christmas.
The Cathedral is stunning and with the large Christmas tree standing tall next to it just gave me goosebumps. As the day wore on and the lights became more prevalent it truly was a spectacular place to take in the beauty of this city. Again, so many people but everyone was in awe of the splendor.
Poi la mappe che ci hai guidato per 20 minuti fino a Piazza Duomo dove non solo si trova l'incredibile Duomo di Milano (che un giorno avrà il suo blog), ma dove si trova il più grande Mercatino di Natale di Milano. Intorno alla Cattedrale sono allestite più di 60 piccole bancarelle tipo chalet che vendono regali di Natale tradizionali e oggetti artigianali come alberi di Natale, presepi e, naturalmente altro cibo.
Quest'anno il mercatino è stato aperto il 1° dicembre e si protrarrà fino al 6 gennaio, giorno della Befana. I venditori sono lì dalle 9 alle 21 per aiutarti a trovare la cosa giusta per quella persona speciale. Tuttavia, preparatevi, ci sono MOLTE persone che visitano Milano a Natale.
Il Duomo è stupendo e con il grande albero di Natale li accanto mi ha fatto venire la pelle d'oca. Con il passare del giorno, le luci sono diventate più diffuse, è stato davvero un luogo spettacolare per ammirare la bellezza di questa città. Ancora una volta, così tante persone, ma tutti erano in soggezione allo splendore.

Via Monte Napoleone
We then took a walk to Via Monte Napoleone, considered the most luxurious area of the city and in 2022 Forbes ranked it the most expensive in Europe and third in the world. Parked in front of the stores were Ferrari’s, Maserati’s, Porche’s and the list goes on. Security guards were placed at each entrance and you could see many employees in the stores. It was incredible to window shop this street, but what was more spectacular were the lights. Truly a place to see at Christmas!
Abbiamo poi fatto una passeggiata fino a Via Monte Napoleone, considerata la zona più lussuosa della città e nel 2022 Forbes l'ha classificata la più cara d'Europa e la terza al mondo. Parcheggiate davanti ai negozi c'erano Ferrari, Maserati, Porche, eccetera. Le guardie di sicurezza erano posizionate ad ogni ingresso e si potevano vedere molti dipendenti nei negozi. Era incredibile guardare le vetrine di questa strada, ma ciò che era più spettacolare erano le luci. Davvero un posto da vedere a Natale!

City Scenes
Throughout the city there were ice skating rinks where you could rent skates and enjoy skating to Christmas music. In the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which was very difficult to walk through the crowd, the huge Gucci Christmas tree was the right place to take selfies.
In tutta la città c'erano piste di pattinaggio sul ghiaccio dove si potevano noleggiare i pattini e divertirsi a pattinare con la musica natalizia. Nella Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, che era molto difficile camminare in mezzo alla folla, l'enorme albero di Natale di Gucci, era il posto giusto per scattare selfie.

We had a wonderful day being tourists in Milan at Christmas time. It truly is a must see if you are in Italy during the festive season. Live life well always and see the world, it is incredible!
