- Your Own Mindful MomentsThis morning when I walked into my kitchen I was welcomed with the brightness of natural light. Prior to this morning the first thing I would do at 5am is turn on the lights because it was way too dark. Working from my great room, most days I’d have to keep those lights on as I would need them for the video calls I was on. Being someone that turns everything off if I don’t need it, it was hurting my sustainability values. Humanity needs to do our part to conserve energy and I wasn’t doing that. Therefore I decided we were going through the roof to let the natural light in. It was a process to get this done and I have done a blog about that process but what I realized this morning as I’m making my coffee, my breathing was deeper, my thoughts were about the sky, they sun, the light, but also about the rain that will make its music on my sky window. This big 6 x 4 foot hole in my ceiling has just opened up a window into my being. It is amazing how finding small things can change your prospective on life itself. I know every morning I will walk into the room and there will be some kind of light. It may be filtered by clouds, rain or snow, it may be as bright as the sun can shine but it will be light that I can stop for a moment and breathe in deep because I can look up and see the world. Well, when it snows I may have to get Gianni to clear my window J The power that fuels me is nature itself. I will easily see what nature is throwing at me as soon as I walk into the room. I know that sunshine brightens me like no other element. The brightness, the heat and just the way it makes me feel when I’m in it, soothes away the pain and the mentals. But the rain, pitter pattering is soothing in itself. Listening to the beat and focusing on my own heart beat will bring another level of peace. I go out into nature, every moment I can. It engulfs me with energy like no other. The power I get from nature fuels every cell in my body. Yes I absolutely love the sun but I’m so lucky to be on this beautiful planet I call home, to enjoy whatever nature throws at me. Do you know what fuels your power? If you don’t, step back and dig deep inside your being and figure it out, because when you do, you will know what true peace is. Have a bright sun filled day and be well.Like
- General DiscussionToday I reflect on the words of a song that was first recorded in 1977 but re-recorded by Whitney Houston in February of 1985. It truly touched my heart because I had had my first child in January of that year. I’m sure these words are known by everyone “I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way…” 36 years later our children are still our future and we need to teach them today so they can lead the way! Tomorrow is EARTH DAY and a great way to teach our children about saving our plant. Share your thoughts on what activities we can do to teach our children to lead the way!!
